Considering that the German Amazon.com seems to have multiple versions of the film with all different prices and cover art you'd think they'd list any special features to distinguish them, if not for the costumer then for themselves to sell the higher prices items.
Still, there aren't as many versions of The Nephew as there are of the Fourth Protocol. There are TONS and they rarely have any info attached to tell one what is what. Why are there so many versions in German and not one for the US market? Hurumph.

And worse still, most of the Fourth Protocol DVDs have only the German dub version, and not the original. But they seem to sell, since there's a new edition just about every year.

I thought I was going to find more info and comments about RS Season 3 instead I'm reading about The Nephew and The Fourth Protocol. I thought I was in the wrong place. But I guess not.
I watched Steele Trying on my DVD and on my computer simultaneously and could really hear the difference in the music. Geez, even the opening song is different. While the second version (DVD) has Tony Bennett songs, they aren't the more popular ones used in the original version. The DVD songs are good but I can certainly tell the difference!!
Also watched Steele in the Chips and it's commentary. While it's not my favorite episode, I do find it amusing, funny, and zany. My least favorite of all episodes of the entire series is the one with the cavier and that awful Anderson guy (I think that's his name) and I wasn't terribly interested in Steele Blue Yonder either, although both had SZ and PB in them, and that's what's important.

Any news on Season Four yet???
I think I've watched just about everything already. Looks like I'll have to watch it all again.
In Steele in the Family, I don't remember the PAXed versions giving us so much information about Mildred's life - she was married to Walter for nine years (he was a liar), she couldn't have children, she wasn't very close to her sister, and was a bit jealous when her sister gave birth to the nephew who was in the episode.
I could shoot PAX. Oh wait, someone already has. Their network is now called "i". ;D
Is anyone else having trouble viewing Steele In The Family all the way through? My disc keeps sticking towards the end. I've cleaned it and played it numerous times. Odd thing is that it doesn't always stick in the same places, except at the very end, where it always sticks.

Yep, I've already seen almost all the third season....I hope the 4th will be out soon, but I guess we''ll have to wait until september or october. I really hope that the next dvds will be full of things about the show and a commentary with Pierce and Stephanie together. I would wait even more than some months for its release if at the end will be such a commentary.
Today I began the Steele in the Chips commentary, and looking at the photos on Steele office's wall I began wonder if some of them are really Pierce's photos, I mean have they all been taken for the show or some of them were Pierce's?. There're so many Stephanie's things in the show so I thought there should be something of Pierce too.

There is. His ideas and smile, not to mention his wife, his kids, and his mother and stepfather. But if you're talking about more material things, there was also his ring and his medalion. I've never hear about anything else of his being used in the show.

Yep you're right there's lot of him in Remington but yes I meant material things, I knew about the ring and the medalion, for this reason I'm wondering if there's something else. And some the photos on the wall seems having been taken from his private life, in Steele in the Chips we can see quite well the lower one on the left and that one seems a "private" one.

I don't know about any of the photos but I do think there is a painting by Pierce in the hall in Lofty Steele
Ace,
After I read your comment, I popped in the DVD and checked out the final scene where Laura and Steele go down to Bartholomew's loft to make nice. I thought this was the scene you were referring to, but I don't think that painting in that scene looks like Pierce's style somehow. Besides, it's kind of ugly, so I hope it isn't his!

I don't recall seeing any of PB's paintings in "Lofty". I watched it again just to be sure, and I still don't recognize anything as being his. I've seen most (maybe all) of his artwork that's been featured in the U.S. press, but I don't recall seeing anything from "Lofty." Exactly which painting is the one you're referring to? The one in the hall outside Nestor's door, or the one in the landlord's robotic art room?
Can someone who thinks PB has a painting in "Lofty" give me a specific reference?
londonstreet, that's right. Though PB's always painted and drawn, he didn't really get his renewed interest in it until Cassie's illness. So that's another good inkling that he doesn't have a painting in "Lofty".
>I thought Pierce began to paint when they found out Cassie's illness, sure it's that after that his paintings changed a lot, above all in colours.
Can someone who thinks PB has a painting in "Lofty" give me a specific reference?
The painting in question was the one outside Nestor's apartment, shown in the very last scene. And the person who said she'd seen it in a magazine was Pat Christensen. Debra, you know her, you can ask for more details. I'm merely repeating what she said. I heard that this particular painting was PB's, but Pat was the only one who had a reason to think so.

Question:
In the featurette, Steele Trio, they show Laura with pie or cake on her face, and she is in a car (the limo?) with it still on her. I can't remember which episode that's from. Can somebody help? Breath of Steele, maybe? Guess I'll have to do my homework.
Definitely Breath of Steele, a rather funny episode! Too bad PAX thought it inappropriate for our eyes. They must have something against legs. I enjoyed it!! (edited to include solution to my puzzle)
Earlier in the thread there was discussion of PB's family appearing in RS episodes. Does anyone know if Cassie was in Maltese Steele? When they are at dinner (before the grave digging scenes) there is a woman sitting at a table behind Mildred. She looks a lot like Cassie and everytime I see her, I think it's CH. Could it be? She usually has part of her face covered though, so it's hard to see. Maybe if someone can do a screen capture and blow it up.......? Just a thought. Could it be CH?
