You know how you get something going through your head, but can't quite come up with what it's from...? SZ singing/humming (somewhat to herself) "...you and the night and the music..." What is that from? Is it Remington Steele, and if so, when? It's like I've got some kind of block and just can't get the context of it. Help!!! cg

Yes it is from Remington Steele. The episode is" A Steele At Any Price"/ Season 2. Laura is singing this song after they(Laura and Remington) broke into an art gallery and stole several paintings(Pitkins) which were used covered other stolen pieces of art. I hope this clear up your block.

OOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Right! Isn't that when she's feeling the "high" from having carried off the, uh, re-possession? Thanks. Wonder if I have a copy of that one. cg

Don't know exactly when the humming appears but I do know I like that episode. I love seeing Laura "cut loose".

Kind of shocking that stuffed shirt white belt wearing Wilson left her over that isn't it... just because she got drunk and did a fan dance for his boss in Mexico. Honestly talk about a passive/agressive way of making sure you get dumped. Ace

Yeah, you get what you want and get to play the victim. Couldn't understand why he left her.... oh come on she practically sent him a gold lettered invitation to do. ;D

I know I'm opening a Pandora's box here, but has that little interlude ever been the topic of fanfic?

Hmmm, let me think. There's one that starts out very well, an alternate universe fanfic where Steele is there and sees her and they go off together and have a wild few days after giving each other phony names (not that he hasn't anything but a phony name) then separate and can't find each other because of the phoney names and she's pregnant. The rest is good but never as exciting and interesting as it's opening chapters. But one where they're down, in the established story cannon, and we see what happens with Laura and Wilson and find out why it happenned from her point of view, I don't think so. Ace

Steele is where? In Acapulco, watching the fan dance? Or after he finds out about it at the winery?

In Aculpulco doing some "work" while she's doing the fan dance, hence it's alternate reality. Though he really should have got lucky at the winery too... I wonder if he would have if the Abbot of Costello hadn't shown up. ;D

I wonder if he would have if the Abbot of Costello hadn't shown up. ;D Ace It's certainly one of my all-time favorite moments in the series. One does wonder what would have happened if they hadn't been interrupted EVERY time. Okay, one doesn't wonder - one has a pretty good idea. cg

Laura would have beeped herself or got a conveneient cramp because otherwise frankly where there's a will there's a way. I swear she hired Mildred just to interrupt them. ;D

I had to read that twice to make sure you didn't say she "bleeped" herself. cg

Oh yeah, my favorites are sometimes Laura at her wildest. Shucks, I even like her in the episode with Butch, the author of wild sexy novels. "What's the matter, Laura, have you just discovered you have hair?" VINTAGE STEELE -- one of the best.
