Umm... How is it not a high profile IP when it was actually based on the television series of the same name that was a legend in its own time? Plus, in its IP, it featured Elliot Ness's war on Al Capone. That should be enough of a high profile something. And I'm not talking about the rest of the cast, yet.

You're right about the Al Capone war. The question is when will Pierce do anything that has a high profile IP with potential excellent reviews. He said in reddit two years ago that he will one day appear in a sci-fi film.

You're right about the Al Capone war. The question is when will Pierce do anything that has a high profile IP with potential excellent reviews. He said in reddit two years ago that he will one day appear in a sci-fi film. It's up to him, really. I'm also upset that since The Ghost Writer, he has done pretty much nothing but low budget indie movies not worthy of anyone's time. I don't know if he's interested in upping his game, because he should consider that if he wants career boost, again. If he keeps playing safe, he'll end up joining the 80s action stars like Lundgren, Norris, Seagal and Van Damme's "Once Upon A Time Greats, Not So Much Now" club. If it takes a television series to do it, I would've done it to bring spotlight back to my career. Timothy Dalton has done that with Penny Dreadful, and now he has a new fandom beside the old one. Having said that, Jackie Chan also belongs to the aforementioned "club". Again, it's up to him. He has The Expendables 4 to film later this year. I had hopes he'd get to be part of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, but we still have no reports on that whatsoever. Either he should fire his agent and hire a new one, or he himself is the problem (for us, the Pierce Brosnan fans who want him back in his glorious throne) by not wanting to do something big. If that's the case, then I'd say he's tired and doing the rest (indies) just for a living. Who knows?

Pierce loves his profession and shoot any character as long as worthy. He knows that he can not do roles galan as Thomas Crown, for example, because Hollywood is very reticent ages, but now it is precisely when better acts, I think he just want to work, either on film or television series, and his followers want to see active

But, let's face it, he's not pulling strings to work on any kind of entertainment format (whether a television series or a film) that would capture the attention of the mainstream audience. Nowadays, only mainstream works and Hollywood cares less about how good an actor or anything is unless they make them money. I don't see Pierce jumping on that board. But, that's entirely up to him.

Which is why he needs another mainstream role (and that includes the action realm, a darker territory in particular). His Bond career didn't work out the way he wanted so I'm hoping he would have something bigger and better that achieve something his last 3 Bond films failed to do, and that is getting better and better in critical terms, not just financial.

Since the promo was for an Asian audience, perhaps that's when it will hit the Asian markets?

Most likely. It could be either a January or February release in Southeast Asia (like China and Japan). IMDB still lists the film's USA release date as November 2016, with no specific day given.

According to this French article, it looks like this movie is being released in the US on September 29, 2017 ... www.jackie-chan.fr/the-foreigner-date-aux-etats-unis-et-en-chine/It's been about a year since the filming took place and no official or visual photo, nor even a teaser to put in the teeth. Only a few stealth images were shown in June 2016 during a video of the future Jackie chan, presented at the Shanghai Film Festival. No official announcement from STX Entertainment, but it is through Stephen Leather, author of the book "The Chinaman" whose film is adapted, that we finally have some news. Indeed, THE FOREIGNER is expected this year in the US on September 29 and China on 1 st October.
