I don't think I'm going to be adding this into my collection. It won't be the first film starring Pierce that I won't bother in buying. I Don't Know How She Does It is the other one I gave a pass.

Oh, don't bother with it. Despite getting the top billing in the closing credits, Pierce is merely in the film. Three or four scenes only.

A classic needs a classic. Considering Pierce is a classic type, he deserves a classic on-screen work (especially when his debut Bond film GoldenEye is his best one to the majority of the audience) yet those show business people just don't know how to give him a great work that is memorable beyond his fanbase.

Much like George Lazenby's agent that told him "Bond was dying in the age of hippies."

Pierce said that he wanted to evolve as actor. Hopefully, The Son will break the mold of everything he has ever done after GE. He may have great works along the way, such as The Thomas Crown Affair, Evelyn, The Matador and The Ghost Writer, but they weren't enough to get him out of his comfort zone though he got a Golden Globe for The Matador while Crown was his only great non-Bond film (of the ones I just listed) that grossed the highest.

I have a feeling 'The Son' will give him a third rise of a career.

Is it just me or Urge sounds like one of the most stupidous titles ever not unlike some of the Fat Seagal's direct-to-video titles?

Should we call it a Fat Seagal film starring Pierce? It does have a direct-to-video quality to it. Why else would this be on video-on-demand with a limited theatrical release?

Survivor also had the same release treatment: limited theatrical views, and video-on-demand from day one. But, at least, it's watchable. The thing is, Pierce has been doing too many quality-lacking projects like these... Glad he accepted something worthy of attention that is The Son, it's something he hasn't done before and by the looks of it, it does sound something of a big production and different from all the things he has done before... Perhaps not entirely, as he's done a western (albeit not an interesting one) with Seraphim Falls, but the role is different and there's going to be too much to tell.

GoldenEye has been sitting on that throne for FAR TOO LONG already.

Here’s a clip from Blu-Ray and DVD with some of the actors talking about Urge.
