Super Bowl Commercials 2015: Grading the Best and Worst Ads By Amber Lee , Sports Lists Lead Writer Feb 1, 2015
Kia, 'The Perfect Getaway' Grade: A
Kia usually brings its A-game to the Super Bowl, and “The Perfect Getaway” is no exception. The 60-second spot features an always charming Pierce Brosnan, channeling his James Bond past in a pitch meeting with a corporate-looking suit type. (Maybe his agent? Studio exec? Kia marketing president? OK, that really doesn’t matter, sorry.)
The suit wastes no time laying out his vision for the project, which turns out to be just a smidgen different than what Brosnan had in mind—it is neither action nor adventure. There are no high-speed car chases, snipers, missile launcher obstacles, explosions or dangerous missions of any kind. It’s just a man…on a mountain…meeting up with his lady. Perfection.
The ad is understated, yet memorable—a welcome departure from those stupid hamsters. It may just be their best yet. (Anything featuring Adriana Lima excluded.)

The 5 Best Ads of Super Bowl XLIX On a night that had it all, these spots did their brands most proud By Tim Nudd

Number 4 Kia "The Perfect Getaway"
My favorite car ad of the night. It's structured flawlessly, and I loved the idea of an over-the-top Super Bowl ad poking a little fun at over-the-top Super Bowl ads. The double meaning of "getaway" lands the ending perfectly. Agency: David & Goliath.
Kia Motors America have released their sales figures for February, and there is a definite reason to celebrate a little! The Koreans moved a total of 44,030 units duing the month of February 2015, a 6.8% increase over the same period last year. Leading the way for Kia, as always, was the Optima with 11, 584 units sold. The Soul moved 9,965 units, while the all-new 2016 Sorento was good for 8,518 units.
LeBron James & Kia K900 Sales
The one number that many folks had an eye on was the number of K900 units sold. The K900 is Kia’s luxury flagship sedan, and was released in North America in order to go head to head with the likes of the Audi A8 and the BMW 7 Series. It also just happens to be the priciest model that Kia offers in the US. We were interested to see how the K900 would fare after LeBron James became the official spokesperson for the luxury sedan. Would his involvement influence potential buyers, or would it have no impact on the sales? In October of last year, Kia sold just 62 units of the K900.
LeBron James started showing up in ads the following month, and the sales started to climb, albeit slowly. The top sales month came in January of this year when the K900 sold 115 units. Things have slipped back to pre-LeBron days, though, as the luxury sedan only sold 62 units in February.
James Bond & Kia Sorento Sales
On the brighter side of things, it would appear the the James Bond inspired Sorento ad that ran during the Super Bowl and featured Pierce Brosnan was a hit. The 2016 Sorento sold 7,453 units in January, but that jumped to 8,518 units in February.
Pierce has been seen around town in the K900, so maybe that's the car he got to keep
