'The Coup' film set destroyed by fire Published: 21 Nov 2013
The set of a Hollywood film, "The Coup", being filmed in the northern province of Lampang was destroyed in a massive blaze on Wednesday night, reports said.
The fire broke out at about 7.40pm at a three-story building, which was used as a studio for the American thriller movie starring Pierce Brosnan, Lake Bell and Owen Wilson, who was reported to have "barely escaped" the flames. Ten fire engines took about 30 minutes to control the blaze. Reports said the fire destroyed 11 units in the building.
The reports said the fire was believed to have been started by an explosion, one the special effects, during the shooting of a scene. Living Films, a Thai production company, is facilitating the shooting of "The Coup".
