I've been alerted that pbfiles.cixx6 site is now redirecting some to ads. I have adblocker on Firefox so have never had the issue and checking on Opera and IE I'm not seeing it. But I don't know if it's because of the browsers suppressing the ads or them not being there. Edit: And now checking on Opera my site is indeed being re-directed - crap. pbfiles.cixx6.comAlso does anyone encounter ads on the Byet site? pbfiles.byethost7.comAlso check out Lauryn's site on 1Freehosting b/c I might move there.. steeleastate.allalla.comWhat is everyone else seeing? If there are disruptive ads I'm going to have to figure out how to move which would mean having to split up my site because it's getting to too many files. Byet alerts me I'm at 106% of my file allocation on their site even though I'm 1500 under the supposed limit

Ace - I'm being redirected from the cixx site. As of yesterday, I was NOT, so this is something very new. I'm using Chrome. The Byte site is fine for me. And my ISP is still not letting me access the allalla site at all (but I placed another call to them to see if they can fix it - it's definitely on their end, not yours).

Grrr. Now checking and no redirects and Lauryn tells me it's stopped for her as well. If it happens again just post here and let me know and I'll switch to another site.
Byet supposedly also has some shady back practices of redirecting sites so I I'll be looking for another provider either a s a main one or a back up. If anyone knows of a solid free one that can host at least 2GB with no banners and this is hard to know doesn't have a file amount limit (or at least a limit of 50,000) please post your suggestions here.

Just checked, and no redirects for me either now. It was probably a glitch on their end.

Thanks to everyone.
Are you seeing any kinds of banners on the bottom of the page? I saw one on Lauyrn's Steele Fic site before it went bonkers and want to know if my blocker on Firefox is suppressing them.

Nope, no banners on any of the pages of the site for me.

I found a possible new host with unlimited # of files and space and a good though not that long reputation. I've uploaded all the files there and will be monitoring it to see if it's stable etc. I will have rather just kept Cixx6 because of Google ranking but with the unexplained week disappearance and the unanswered (as of yet) inquiry about the ad barrage incident it looks like I'll be taking my site down from there if all runs well with hourb in a week or so. The new site URL is pbfiles.hourb.com. Please use it to see if there are any issues and all runs smoothly etc. Report any problems here. Thank you.

This is getting ridiculous but Hourb changed it's file limit policy and even the lowered amount it said it had was twice what I actually had to work with before get error messages and I'd have needed at least 3 maybe 4 different domains from them for the site. Soooo... I've moved the site back to cixx6 since I haven't seen any pop up/ad issues in the last couple of months and it was easier than finding yet another host. The site is spread over two domains pbfiles and pbfiles2 but hopefully the links will make it as seamless as one site. (if there are broken links let me know) The main url is still pbfiles.cixx6.com , the annex which you really don't need to know is pbfiles2.cixx6.com but just a heads up if you stumble across it in search results. It figures, this change back and forth was just long enough to completely screw up my Google search results, and splitting the site up won't help either.

How frustrating!!! All we have to do is change a bookmark or two, but to change a WHOLE SITE over?! AGAIN?! Do you have any hair left, or have you pulled it all out by now?!

At this point I'm more inclined to pull someone else's hair out. I specifically chose that host because they told me there was unlimited file limit then it's changed without notification and when I pointed out I wasn't even getting the new limit the suggestion was to delete and reload my site - which I did twice - each time getting a lower and lower limit before an error popped up until I was at about 30-40% of what Cixx6 and others had as a file # limit. The biggest pain is losing my Google ranking - again.

Hi Ace, Just wanted to let you know that I can't seem to access the main PB Files site at the moment. I could access it up to about a week or two ago, but then all of a sudden it decided IE couldn't access it and the best I was going to be offered was a cached copy of the site. I can now access this forum, but for some unknown reason I still can't access the main site. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem or if it's just a gremlin that has decided to crawl into my system just for this one website. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I was loving getting lost in all the interviews and other goodies on the site Thank you!

Hi Brina, I just checked IE and it's loading for me. Do you have another browser to try? I recommend Firefox (it also renders my site better as does every other browser except IE which loses the drop down menus and formats some fonts and pages funny). If it doesn't load on Firefox it might be an issue with your ISP or your Security Protocols in your Firewall (though I don't think there's anything on my site to flag any security issues).

Hi Ace,
I only have IE at the moment but I'll have a play and try it through Firefox too. Just tried loading it on my phone but it doesn't seem to want to play ball on there either.

I'm using Chrome and it's working for me. Brina, are you clicking on the top button "website: Pierce Brosnan Files" on the left side, just under the banner of pictures? If not, try that.

Well I don't know what my computer was playing at, but I've just tried the website again and it worked absolutely fine just like it always had on IE. Very strange but certainly not complaining! Thanks for everyone's suggestions - will bear them in mind next time it plays silly beggars

I would recommend also downloading another or even just an additional browser though like Firefox. IE is rather glitchy and doesn't play nice with a lot of newer web designs and css, usually has more security issues than other browsers (partly because Microsoft is more under attack by hackers) and Firefox and others have great add-ons you can pick and choose from (pop up blockers, themes, video download etc)
