Pierce Brosnan received the prestigious Caritas Award over the weekend. The actor picked up the prize at a gala thrown on Saturday at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel by the Trustees of St John's Health Centre Foundation. The organisation's chair Donna Tuttl praised Brosnan for his dedication to helping the ill and injured. Tutti said: "The extraordinary passion Pierce Brosnan brings to his family, his profession and his community reflects the true spirit of Caritas. It is for this and his great friendship to St John's that he is being honoured with the award." Julie Andrews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hanks and Anthony Hopkins have all been honoured by St John's in previous years. Brosnan will next star in a miniseries based on Stephen King's Bag of Bones, which will air on A&E.
