Vega takes Schrader's 'Jesuit' vow Willem Dafoe also in talks to join ensemble drama By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK
Paz Vega is set to star in Paul Schrader's ensemble drama "The Jesuit," while Willem Dafoe, Oscar Isaac and Michelle Rodriguez are in final talks. Film Bridge Intl. is introducing the project to foreign buyers at Cannes for Open Window Prods.
Storyline revolves around a man nicknamed "the Jesuit," who is imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. When his wife is murdered and his son kidnapped and taken to Mexico, he devises an elaborate and dangerous plan to rescue his son and avenge the murder.
Schrader most recently helmed the political thriller "Walker," toplining Woody Harrelson and Kristin Scott Thomas.
The Gersh Agency packaged "The Jesuit" and will oversee financing.
Open Window's John Morrissey and Santiago Garcia are attached to produce.
Ellen Wander's Santa Monica-based Film Bridge has sold and financed more than a dozen films, including the upcoming Stephen King thriller "Dolan's Cadillac" and Jon Amiel's "Angel Makers."
In Cannes, Film Bridge also will be offering Pierce Brosnan action-adventure "Ace" and the $130 million sci-fi thriller "UFO," based on the ITV television series.

Thanks for posting this. I saw it a couple days ago and forgot to copy the link and lost it. It looks to be in early "trying to find financing" stages - as are a a few others - so we'll see... I am honored he's trying to make a film about me though.

Let's hope Pierce does another action film soon. I want to see more of him in the action movie realm.
