I was thinking of Robinson Crusoe the other day. As far as I can remember, it was meant to be released in theatres; however, they held it back for a few years and released it on DVD instead? Also, the characters of Robinson and Mary are together for only a few scenes: in the beginning of the story, in one of his daydreams before he realizes he’s been on the island for a year already, and at the end when he finally returns? Just wondering if there are other versions of the same film (only Pierce’s version) released at other times, perhaps longer with more scenes between the couple.

The film was originally meant for television, as part of the then Hallmark series of movies that used to show on CBS. Then after he was chosen as Bond, Weinstein and Miramax bought the rights to show in theaters - then didn't really release it except in a few territories then eventually on DVD and then on U.S. TV where it was supposed to be from the start. So I don' think there are any other versions of the film or cut scenes that aren't on the DVD.

Got tired of watching football (my team won, Geaux Saints!) so changed the channel and found Robinson Crusoe on This TV. It just started a few minutes ago. So I'll keep it on while I'm hunting through my computerized recipes for something to make for my sister's Christmas bash. Merry Christmas, everybody! ;D PS - the link below isn't working for me, Our Illustrious Taipan,
