Check this out. Tell me this guy (in the suit) doesn't remind you of Laura Holt. He definitely has similar mannerisms, including the walk. Could it possibly Laura's wandering father? Dressed up as a Private Investigator? Also, here's that same guy talking about somebody named 'Stephanie' appearing on some TV series called 'Remington Steele'. 77 Sunset Strip reunion 1985:

His suits are better than hers and he has a bit more swagger. Ah that Efrem is a handsome man. I've only ever seen snippets of this show and didn't know the gorgeous Roger Smith aka Mr. Anne Margret was in the show. That's one exceptionally good looking cast - no wonder the show ran for 7 years.

Well, yes, Mr. Ann-Margret was a plus, for sure. So was Efrem Z, Kookie Edd Byrnes, Richard Long and the adorable RJ (Robert Logan). Suzanne (Jacqueline Beer) was lovely and Roscoe was a kick. It was "must-see" TV on Friday nights in my neighborhood. ;D Let's not forget, 77 had a larger budget than RS. Warner Bros. could afford the suits since they were skimping on the salaries of their contract players and they had so many popular shows airing at once. On RS, their budget went to the mysterious Mr. Steele: suits, apartment, golden name plates, cigars.

It wasn't the money, as James Garner could tell you who sued them when they quit paying him during a writer's strike. Of course that didn't stop the studio during this so called "act of God" from taking hundreds of scripts under the table. Thanks for those clips, MG! That was fun! Jive talk! Skinny ties! Casual smoking! I was just a tyke when the show started, and its Warners / ABC clones, Surfside Six, Hawaiian Eye, and Bourbon Street Beat. It sure was raining men on the studio lot, and lookers, too. Not just the cast on Sunset but Troy Donohue and Robert Conrad on SS and HE. I got to see more of 77 Sunset Strip (in perpetual reruns) than the others. Now I can't get those theme songs out of my head! Surfside Six Who lives there? Surfside Six Young bachelors Surfside Six And where is it? in MIAMI BEACH!!!!! Well, not really, it was filmed in LA, but they all were, I think, with the sometime exception of Bourbon Street Beat, with Richard Long. I think they set up at The Old Absinthe House.

They were fun shows with gorgeous guys, for sure. I remember being madly in love with Robert Conrad of Hawaiian Eye. Always loved the theme songs of these shows, too. In fact, I have them on CD. ;D Should I mention I had RC's pictures on my bedroom walls in my early years? I was always a pushover for great looking private investigators.
