Errr, that doesn't sound too promising. Not exactly the most quality director or cast. I wonder if he'sa doing it just to do something with Sean. I wonder how big his role is - if it's maybe a cameo.

When is Pierce going to do another blockbuster action movie? He needs something like Sean Connery's The Rock.

Here's the Google translation:

L'annuncio è stato dato oggi anche per via del Torino Film Festival in corso fino a domani, dalla Lumiq di Torino, finanziatore del progetto accanto a Uniproductions, Cine8media e Fip (Film Investimenti Piemonte). Il film, ambientato nel Mariland, verrà girato, per il 90% alla Lumiq di Torino, il 10% nel Mariland. The film, set in Maryland, will be shot, 90% to Lumiq of Turin, 10% in Maryland. The budget is around 5 million euros. History, irreverent, tells of a journalist of 50 years is about to make public the story of a man about to be executed. A universal theme that turns the awareness of the existence of capital punishment, brutal common thread to the society of 2000 years ago. In a flashback, you will be thrown in the '70s, where Mary and Joe are two hippies on their way to Bethlehem (Maryland), to visit Darlene's mother, Mary, for Christmas. From there dipanerà a series of situations funny games around the pregnancy of Mary.
Sounds a bit odd -- the plotline, not the translation, although that's a bit off, too.
And this brings up a question, why do we translate the names of European cities and countries instead of using the name the locals use: Milan instead of Milano, Rome instead of Roma, Turin instead of Torino? Not just Italian locales, but all other language locales.

MG, yes the synopsis is um unique. ;-)
I don't know why cities and countries are translated but every country seems to translate into their own language. I.E: Estados Unidos, Nueuva York, Londres

Pierce isn't mentioned as part of the cast but Sean is still attached www.collider.com/2010/07/21/adrien-brody-sharon-stone-sweet-baby-jesus-sam-rockwell-kim-cattrall/Adrien Brody and Sharon Stone to Replace Sam Rockwell and Kim Cattrall in SWEET BABY JESUS by Matt Goldberg Posted:July 21st, 2010 at 1:44 pm We have a bit of casting change-up for you this afternoon. Deadline reports that Adrien Brody and Sharon Stone are replacing Sam Rockwell and Kim Cattrall in the religious comedy Sweet Baby Jesus. While I’m always bummed when Rockwell leaves a project, Adrien Brody is no slouch and Sweet Baby Jesus has a solid premise: “Joe (Brody), a guy who finds himself accompanying his pregnant teenage girlfriend to Bethlehem, Maryland during the 1970s. His girlfriend’s name is Mary (Pixie Lott) and soon the town is agog that it’s about to witness the Second Coming.” Stone will play Mary’s mother. Sean Brosnan (son of Pierce Brosnan) has also joined the cast, and Bette Midler is still on board to play the innkeeper.
