CG, nope all icons are showing up for me, and they're form two different sites so you should only lose half, and the unessetial half at that. Have you?
Yuliya, thanks. I'd be more impressed with myself if only it hadn't taken me almost a year to see I had that feature and knew what it did! ;D

I now have words on the posts, I believe, which tell me modify, delete, etc. Most helpful. (But why did the others disappear again? It's just weird.) I hate being stupid, but I'll ask anyway. What did I miss? cg

The others dissapeared again because your server doesn't like Proboards and it's server. Evidently it's an on and off love/hate relationship kind of thing. The new feature is the News feature at the top of the board that flashes well the News. Ace

Sorry, caught that this morning when I logged in. I have software that eliminates a lot of ads, so I tend to blow by things like that without really looking at them. My bad. It is a cool feature! cg

All right, I know why the board has been "off" by an hour -- and I think I just fixed that -- but why is it off by an additional ten minutes? (Or maybe it's fifty, but that requires too much thinking to figure out.)

The board probably uses server clock, which is for some reason off by 10 minutes (it's increasing, BTW - it used to be 2 or 3.) In other words, the clock is off on the machine on which this site is running. Ace doesn't have control over it although if it becomes very annoying she can probably write them telling her visitors complain.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't think we had quite that small of time zones. ;D cg

15 minutes is the smallest offset, if you must know. Of course, most time zones are a number of hours off GMT. Some are several hours and half an hour off - cities like Adelaide, New Delhi, Kabul, Kolkata, Tehran, St. John's, Rangoon. I think Newfoundland is half an hour off, too, I'm not sure. And also, there are a few places that are 15 minutes off. Kathmandu and Chatham Island, for instance. I got most names online. Generally, it happens when a certain place falls between times zones and they're independent enough from their neighbors to create their own time zone going with whatever is convenient for them. India, I think, has a reversed situation - they shofted their time zone so that the entire country is one time zone instead of two as it georgaphically should be. And there are more weird things like places that ovserve DST and places that don't observe DST (living in Indiana you probably know about it .)

Pierce Ephemera was getting a little clogged and messy and I thought a new category was needed just for his appearances in magazines and ads and photos intensive topics that don't really fit totally in TV & Film, RS or Bond.
I'm also going thinking of moving all the Activism/Charities/Causes to another category so things can be kept track of better and added to and not so lost in the shuffle.
So any 1 or N/A signs of incorect amoint of posts is just the board being a pain, all the inf should still e inside.

I'm a little confused. (yeah, yeah, what else is new?) I can see trying to separate things out a bit, I guess I'm just not sure what goes where in the new system. cg p.s. I still find it a little disconcerting for the board to say it's 12:05 p.m. and my computer to say it's 11:51 a.m.

Tell it to pro-boards. I looked at their admin forum and others were complaining and they still haven't fixed the time problem. The new board is just basically for the large miscellanious photo topic along with photo spreads, magazines, interviews, ads etc. that don't really fit in the other boards. If there's a general news item or artilce with a small photo etc it still goes into Ephemera, just like news & papparrazzi photos of him "Out & About" still go in that category. Yeah there's overlapping but there always has been with some Emphemera stuff also really belonging in TV & Film or Bond. Just as with the new films there are interviews and photos that have been under the Film topic. Some over lapping just can't be avoided but this might help to find and add to things a little easier. I hope. Ace

OK Activism is done. Now a question. Should there be a Games & Polls topic. So far the only game we have is the Trivia game and couple of old polls sprinkled in Emphemera. Is it worth it? Would having it's own topic make others feel freer to start new games and polls? Would it matter? Discuss... Ace

I'm still trying to figure out the answer to my last question. Guess it depends on if you are trying to encourage polls and games, but any time a board gets too "big" (lots of topics), I find myself less likely to keep reading. Maybe that's just me. :: shrugs :: cg

I don't care for the too many main topics either which is why I don't have sub sections for each film etc but so many of the current topics are getting a little too large to look through and navigate easily and while that's OK for us long term posters who might not want or need to look for old topics well there are always new lurkers to think about. ;D As for the polls and games, well that's really just up to the board patrons and what they'd like which is why I asked. Oh, wow, two new categories! I think it's a good idea to have those because, as has been said, things are easier to find and one knows where to post what. I'm not against a games & polls category. The quote game we have can somehow be "squeezed" in the films category, but if someone comes up with another game, they'll know where to put it. Other opinions, please!

I guess I'm weird. I liked seeing all categories in one screen along with who's logged on in the bottom. Since we got that newsflash, I can't do that anymore - I have to scroll carefuly to make sure I see all categories and who's logged. If we add one more category, I won't be able to do that. But it's not that important. It's not going to prevent me from posting, and if I post any more than I'm posting now, somebody may want to shut me up, so whatever everybody else wants is fine with me. maybe Games and Polls is a good idea because they really doen't belong anywhere.
On the other hand, do we ever have any polls or games (other than the quote one that may easily belong to the movie category)? Most polls I've seen in other PB-related boards didn't make much sense to me anyway.

Most polls I've seen in other PB-related boards didn't make much sense to me anyway. I agree with you on most of the polls you see around. I've been playing with the idea for a new game, but I haven't figured out everything yet. *If* I ever think it makes enough sense. And then I could just as well put it in "Off Topic" or "Media".
